Maddy Mascari (she/her/hers) is a third-year undergraduate student at Texas A&M University majoring in Psychology B.S. Maddy joined the MD Lab to connect with the community, have a greater psychological understanding of children about family dynamics as well as gain research experience. She hopes to attend graduate school and pursue a PhD in Industrial-Organizational Psychology to help improve the overall well-being of employees in the workplace. In her free time, Maddy enjoys going out with her friends, trying new coffee shops, and being physically active at the recreation center.
Leslie Garcia is a first year undergraduate student at Texas A&M majoring in Psychology B.S with plans to minor in Neuroscience. She is joining the MD lab in spring semester in pursuit of developing knowledge in familial relationships and the opportunity to work with children. After undergrad, she plans to pursue a PhD in Developmental Psychology and have a career working with children. She has always been interested in the learning and development of children and how that affects them both negatively and positively and hopes to one day fulfill this passion. During her free time she enjoys reading novels, learning new recipes and trying new restaurants.
Arianna Garcia (she/her) is a second-year undergraduate student at Texas A&M pursuing a B.A. in psychology. She is interested in joining either a PsyD program or PhD program after graduating, and pursuing a career in clinical or counseling psychology with a focus on children, adolescents, and young adults. Through this lab, she hopes to gain experience working with children as well as learning more about how diverse communities feel towards social and racial issues. During her free time, she is a member of PELDEM; an organization on campus dedicated to supporting Latino/ Hispanic families in the area who are experiencing breast cancer and/or other terminal illnesses. Aside from school, she likes to watch true crime, binge shows, or have movie marathons. She also likes to listen to music/ podcasts, read books, go out with friends, or visit family.
Hadeel Hamdan (she/her) is a post-bacc from Texas A&M and recently graduated with her B.A. in Psychology and English and minors in Sociology and Women’s & Gender Studies. Hadeel’s research interests include stress interventions and socio-cultural influences on wellbeing. In joining the MD lab, Hadeel hopes to learn how children process the world around them and the possible protective factors that may come from their family and environment. She thus plans to go to graduate school in Clinical or Counseling Psychology to work with children and adolescents. Her hobbies include reading and trying as many different coffee drinks as possible.
Jenny Kim is a freshman undergraduate student at Texas A&M university. She is currently majoring in Psychology, and is interested in working towards a PhD in Clinical Psychology. She joined the moral development lab this spring semester to gain more hands on research experience and use her experience with working with children in this lab. She is extremely excited to work with peers and mentors in this professional environment. During her free time, she enjoys finding good food places with friends, playing with her dog Charlie, reading, and traveling!
Jessica Murillo is a junior here at Texas A&M majoring in psychology. She is looking forward to learning more about the research process and connecting with the community more through this lab! After getting her bachelor’s, she plans on attending graduate school to get her master’s in psychology. Her ultimate goal is to have a practice of her own and work with adolescents. During her free time, she likes to go on adventures with her dog and spend time with her loved ones.
